What can you expect?

Creative ways of exploring topics using drama and art help to engage primary school pupils in the curriculum.

Our creative curriculum package helps support pupils learning creatively. We can create bespoke one-off or term long creative curriculum for primary schools. We have a range of experience across topics including Ancient Egypt, Celebrating Diversity, Healthy Me, and Significant People Through History.

Lesson plan example: Ancient Egypt

An example of the lesson below was part of a term-long project on Ancient Egypt which Sarah has run with a number of schools across Manchester.

Students begin the lesson in role as the builders of the pyramids. The aim for the students is to pitch how the pyramids would be built to the Queen (facilitator). This activity includes learning in history, maths, construction, drama and english.

In role, children learnt about the importance of the pyramids, which tools and materials they could use at the time as well as the treatment of the workers, and the environment they would build them in. They created diagrams and looked at the feasibility of how to construct them, and created in role pitches to the Queen to be the chosen architects.

The outcomes for students after completing the work is a much broader and deeper understanding of Ancient Egypt because they had experienced it for themselves. This activity increases their knowledge, language and vocabulary.
